Through this ownership structure, the Ebner family, as principal owners of NPG, holds 47.7% of Berliner Rundfunk 91.4, and Ruth Aberle holds 23.6%.
The remaining 24.9% is owned by Radio-Information Audio-Service Zwei GmbH, which is part of a consortium comprising Nordwest Mediengruppe (50%), Regiocast (43%), and Stefanie Pehlke (7%).
Through Nordwest Mediengruppe's stake, the Köser family holds 4.2% and Stephan Graf von Bothmer holds 6.2%. It was among the first private radio stations established after German reunification. The original GDR broadcaster was launched on May 13, 1945, by the Soviet Military Administration in Germany (SMAG), which used the outlet for political communication and to promote Soviet-aligned policies in the Soviet occupation zone. Following the dissolution of the GDR and the end of state-controlled broadcasting, the station transitioned into a private enterprise under new commercial ownership at the start of 1992.
