| Founding Year | 1988 The station was founded on March 15, 1988 by a consortium of 50 shareholders, including 36 Hessian newspaper publishers as well as national publishing houses, the Hessian Farmers Association (Hessischer Bauernverband), and the Hesse State Sports Association (Landessportbund Hessen). The founding followed the deregulation of the radio market and the allocation of radio licenses to private operators. In November 1989, the station was granted its radio license, and on November 15, 1989, the first broadcast was transmitted. |
