The Bing family

The Bing family holds a total of 10 percent of shares in Antenne Thüringen GmbH & Co. KG, with Stephanie Bing holding 9.5 percent and Wilhelm Bing 0.5 percent. Wilhelm Bing is an experienced publisher and media entrepreneur, longtime editor-in-chief and publisher of the Waldeckische Landeszeitung, and co-founder of several private radio stations, including Radio FFH and Antenne Thüringen. Beyond his business activities, he was active in industry associations and governance bodies, including the ZDF Television Council and the supervisory board of the German Press Agency (Deutsche Presse-Agentur), and received the Federal Cross of Merit (Bundesverdienstkreuz) in 2004.
The Bing family's stake in Antenne Thüringen makes them formative minority shareholders of the station. Economically and editorially, the family concentrates on the private radio business, while Wilhelm Bing additionally brings operational experience and networks from other media companies.
Antenne Thüringen has been broadcasting since 1993 and, with daily reach in the high six figures, ranks among the leading private radio stations in the state. The shareholder structure is broadly diversified, with significant stakes held by Suhler Verlagsgemeinschaft, Verlag Dierichs, RTL Group, and PFD Pressefunk GmbH. Stephanie Bing is active as an artist and cultural figure in both entrepreneurial capacities and in cultural projects of public institutions.
